Look Who's Talking is proud to introduce Dawn Burnside: I have three children, two of which have benefitted from First Steps speech therapy. My son has a moderate language disorder and sensory integration issues. I have worked with many children with varying developmental levels as a volunteer and in personal family situations. I grew up with a brother with cerebral palsy. I have experience with several disorders including cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome, autism, sensory integration disorders, and language and speech delays. I will research any disorder I am not familiar with and am comfortable working with all developmental abilities. I am currently working on my master’s degree from Purdue University in Speech Language Pathology. My children’s experience with First Steps was my inspiration to return to school and get my degree in order to provide other families with the support and sincere encouragement that my family received. I believe our children deserve a bright future and look forward to working with your family."
"Communication teaches and opens up the world. I believe it is critical to attend to a child’s developing skills in order to preserve and expand their life experience. Including caregivers and siblings is an essential ingredient in making this experience fun and useful.
Dawn is ready to start working with families in the Lowell area!
